Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of this website. Reading its content, visiting a page, or submitting a search constitutes agreement to these terms. Anyone who does not agree must stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. San Bernardino County Criminal History is privately operated and has no connection to a local, California, or federal government body. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for employment screening, tenant evaluation, credit decisions, insurance underwriting, or another Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) purpose. The site offers directions to San Bernardino County record resources. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government affiliation. It cannot file documents, conduct an official background check, retrieve a record for a user, or store official criminal records.

Its role is to identify custodians of San Bernardino County records, including the Sheriff, the Superior Court of California, the California Department of Justice, and the California Megan's Law Website, while also linking to outside tools that may assist research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Use automated scrapers, bots, or similar tools against the pages
  • Interfere with site performance or another person's access
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into systems or restricted areas
  • Use the content for lending, insurance, housing, or hiring decisions
  • Threaten, harass, or stalk anyone with information found here
  • Violate any applicable local, California, or federal law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information obtained here or through a linked tool may be used to threaten, intimidate, harass, stalk, or discriminate against a person. Such conduct may be criminal. California Penal Code section 290.46 limits misuse of California Megan's Law Website information and provides penalties for prohibited acts. Registry data supports community safety awareness, not vigilantism, employment exclusion, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produces no consumer report, credit report, or background check. Its advertising partners are not presented as tools for reviewing rental applications, screening applicants, setting insurance rates, or assessing credit. Information from this site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Make any other determination regulated by the FCRA
  • Set insurance premiums or assess creditworthiness
  • Evaluate eligibility for a license, permit, or government program
  • Review a housing or rental applicant
  • Make a hiring or firing decision

A legally permitted check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must be obtained from an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider. California Department of Justice criminal-history access is separately limited by Penal Code section 11105, and local summary criminal history by Penal Code section 13300.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is informational and is not legal advice. General descriptions of San Bernardino County warrants, charges, convictions, or expungement cannot resolve an individual matter. Consult an attorney licensed in California for advice.

6. No Warranties

All services and content are offered "as is," without any guarantee that:

  • An outside search provider's results will be accurate or complete
  • The pages will contain no defects, errors, or security weaknesses
  • Access will remain uninterrupted
  • Any item of information will always be complete, correct, or current

Charges may be filed or dismissed, and records may be sealed or expunged. Updates can therefore lag or contain gaps. No content here is an official statement of the San Bernardino County Sheriff, Superior Court, California Department of Justice, or another agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to the Sheriff, courts, California agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Those destinations are independently operated. This site is not responsible for their availability, fees, data practices, or content, and users should review the destination's terms.

8. Intellectual Property

San Bernardino County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, code, graphics, and logos. Written permission is required before copying, adapting, distributing, or creating derivative material from that content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site is not liable for losses or damages arising from its use, including reliance on content obtained here or from a linked service.

10. Indemnification

Users agree to indemnify and hold the site harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by their use of the service or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

California law governs these terms. Any proceeding related to use of the site must be brought in a court located in California. The California Public Records Act governs requests to public agencies, not requests to this private site.

12. Changes to These Terms

These conditions may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated terms are posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended, limited, or ended at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected provision will be modified only to the extent needed for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
